As Olivier Giroud has announced his departure from the club, AC Milan are looking for a new striker and Benjamin Sesko has ended up on their wish list. As highlighted by a report, though, the Slovenian No.9 is not cheap.

The departure of Giroud was confirmed by the man himself on Monday afternoon, shortly before the agreement with the MLS side LAFC was announced. Although Milan have known this for quite some time, they can now accelerate their pursuit of a striker.

According to Corriere della Sera, as cited by MilanNews, Sesko is at the top of their wish list after scoring 18 goals for RB Leipzig this season. However, this success has also meant that the Slovenian’s release clause has increased, coming in at a total of €65m.

It remains to be seen if any club is willing to pay such a high fee for the 20-year-old. Certainly, it makes the pursuit complicated for Milan who would have to use all of their negotiating skills, hoping that no other clubs express a concrete interest.

We reported earlier this week that Milan have taken concrete steps forward in the Joshua Zirkzee race, even holding talks with Bayern Munich. Remember to sign up on our Substack if you haven’t already, as we sent out the news one day earlier there.
